Dr Ruyi Tong
Certified Practising Speech Pathologist
Ruyi firmly believes that quality matters. Quality is something to be experienced, such as improvements in speech clarity, greater independence communicating with others, and joy during mealtimes. Ruyi qualified in 2005 with an honours degree in speech pathology from the University of Sydney. Since then, she has worked in a variety of health workplaces in the disability sector in Singapore and Australia. She specialises in working with individuals with complex communication needs. Fascinated by the complexities of, and need for, collaborative teamwork to better support individuals with such needs, she pursued research studies with Curtin University in 2016. Ruyi obtained a PhD in psychology in 2022.
In addition to clinical work, Ruyi enjoys sharing her knowledge by providing clinical supervision, teaching speech pathology students, and presenting her work through various forums (e.g., papers in journals, at conferences, public workshops and guest lectures) regularly.
